But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…— Acts 1:8a

What a privilege to be endued with power!  What kind of life would we have without the supernatural power to live above the Curse and circumstances?  You no longer have to bow to sickness, lack, worry, and fear--you have been endued with power.  Why continue to live an ordinary life?  Why live like you are power-less and help-less?  No, I say!  You have been empowered to be a witness for God, to be a proof-provider that Jesus is alive!  Supernatural signs and wonders await you if you will only put your trust in the promise of the Holy Ghost Who has come upon you.  Don't think of yourself as ordinary any longer.  Stop seeing yourself with only natural ability and start to meditate on the power that has been infused into your life.  Tarry no longer--go with the power and ability of God at work in and through your life!

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. -- John 8:3, 4

This woman was caught in the very act of adultery. Some Christians do not believe in sin unless they get caught in the act, so they tolerate and allow little hidden sin to remain in their lives. But sin is sin whether you are with others or all by yourself.  “Anger fits” while driving, watching unsuitable TV shows, a simple curse word here and there seem to be okay as long as no one is around. As a pastor I have found that many people talk and act differently around me than when they are with others or with family. You are a new creation when in church, around your pastor, or by yourself. What you allow in your life will be in your life.  Don't wait to get caught in the act; take authority over all ungodliness now.

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery…they...set her in the midst…   -- John 8:3

The scribes and Pharisees were continually seeking out those who did not live up to their religious expectations. They were professional "accusers" of others while being professional "excusers" of their own sin and faults. Your relationship with God does not depend on whether you catch others in sin and faults, but on whether you will allow the Holy Spirit to clean up your own act. God is a personal God, and He wants an intimate relationship with you. Do not fall into the trap of putting your eyes on the performance of others around you, or even on your own performance, but allow the Holy Spirit to make Jesus' performance for you real in your daily life.

And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias.” — Acts 1:26

We live in a time when we need to be precise in spiritual decisions.  The days of rolling the dice, flipping a coin, and guessing what to do are over in your life.  The disciples cast lots to make spiritual decisions because the "Decision-Maker" had not yet been sent.  They were living in a pre-Holy Ghost dispensation and luck was the best they had.  Now we have the Leader, the Helper, the Decision-Maker!  Expect Him to lead you today!
